Caper Plant Fly (Capparimyia savastani)

This fly is found flying on Caper plants, laying its eggs inside the flower buds where the larvae develop. It is found on the wing in the summer and autumn months.  This species is found in the Mediterranean regioin with its range extending into Asia.
